Ethan Tapper is a forester, ecologist, digital storyteller, and the bestselling author of How to Love a Forest: The Bittersweet Work of Tending a Changing World, which received the 2025 New England Book Award for nonfiction. For more than a decade, Ethan has been recognized as a thought-leader in the world of ecosystem stewardship, winning numerous regional and national awards for his work.   Ethan will discuss his work and will sign copies of his book (available for purchase) following the conversation.

Conversations with local, national, and international acclaimed speakers on a variety of subjects.  These hour-long sessions include lunch and opportunities to dialogue with the conversationalists.  Join us for thought-provoking discussions that connect our community with diverse perspectives and innovative ideas.  These conversations are sponsored by ArtDesk Magazine, the quarterly publication devoted to contemporary arts, performance and thought which debuted in 2013 and is published by the Kirkpatrick Foundation.
