Moribana – Ikebana Workshop with Heidi Almosara

Studio 4 – Green Box Workshop

Through this workshop, participants will discover and experience the beauty and pleasure of self-expression through ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging in which nature and humanity are brought together in harmony.  Participants will learn moribana, one of the traditional styles of Ikebana.  Instruction will be given to show the arranger how to create balance through the use of measurements, angles, and space.  All materials are provided, and participants will walk away with flowers, a container, and a special ikebana tool.

Heidi Almosara is a former fine arts professor, a multidisciplinary artist, and a certified Sogetsu Ikebana teacher.  Her artwork has been featured in over a hundred exhibitions both nationally and internationally.  In 2025, she opened her first studio located in downtown Colorado Springs called Yanagi Botanic Arts where she teaches Ikebana classes and creates Ikebana-inspired artwork.
